Receptionist

We are looking for an experienced receptionist within a hotel/restaurant environment to join The Falcon Hotel, a stunning 16th Century coaching inn: situated in Uppingham’s historic Market Place. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our reception team.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

​

• Making Accommodation Reservations 

• Assist with Function and Event Bookings 

• Manning the front desk: answering telephone and speaking to guests at the desk 

• Cash Handling 

• Administration of the hotel 

• Welcoming guests the hotel 

• Working when necessary in other departments (Front of House, Housekeeping) 

• Selling packages and set rates to customers 

• Making Restaurant reservations 

• Handling of checking in & checkout process Essential Qualities 

• Passionate about great customer service 

• Works well under pressure • Is diligent, organised and punctual 

• Has a willingness and drive to enhance one’s knowledge and the company’s reputation 

• Confident IT ability 

• Has strong communication and time keeping skills 

• Front of House experience is preferable

Front of House Supervisor at The Falcon Hotel

We are looking for an experienced shift supervisor within a hotel/restaurant with a passion for excellent service and the ability to lead our Front of House team to join our group which currently includes; The Falcon a stunning 16th Century coaching inn, Don Paddy’s a brasserie, wine bar & coffee shop and The Vaults Pub which are all situated in Uppingham’s historic Market Place. The successful candidate would be placed in the most suitable establishment dependant on their experience and qualifications.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Creating a welcoming impression and building relationships with guests and customers. 

  • Having an extensive knowledge of the menu offerings, rooms and other services provided.

  • Serving customers in a timely and professional manner

  • Ensuring that all tasks, including cleaning responsibilities around the bar and back of house areas, are completed on each shift

  • Ensuring that the bar area and any other customer facing areas are kept clean at all times

  • Managing wedding and event set up

  • Liaising with other HODs daily to ensure coherent day to day running of the hotel

  • Managing functions and staff, creating good rapport with the guests

  • Overseeing the service of the dining areas

  • Locking and cashing up at the end of the day

  • Flexibility towards working hours 

  • Efficient and dilligent in the work place

  • Able to lead a team

  • Prioritise the customer’s needs above all else

We are looking for an experienced chef within a hotel/restaurant environment to join The Falcon Hotel, a stunning 16thCentury coaching inn: situated in Uppingham’s historic Market Place. The successful candidate would be a key part of the team ensuring the day to day running of the hotel kitchen.

 

 

Essential Qualities

 

  • Passionate about great food

  • Works well under pressure

  • Is diligent, organised and punctual

  • Has a willingness and drive to enhance one’s knowledge and the company’s reputation

  • Works with the best quality, seasonal ingredients to create flavourful, innovative food

  • Has strong communication and time keeping skills

  • Preferably minimum NVQ level 2 or relevant kitchen experience
